Review Comments: The .5 micron air stone works great with a pressurized gas system (disposable tank from Lowes/HD or medical oxygen). If you want to use a fish tank pump, etc (low pressure/room air) then you'll need to pickup the 2 micron version.

Review Comments: I agree with the previous post. I read up on making this type of aeration system and purchased the parts. Come brew day I put it together and tried it out. Nothing happened. Ended up hooking the hose and stone to my 15 gallon air compressor (oiless) and wammo, it worked great. Probably gonna use this system and return the $20 aquarium pump.
"Definitely need a powerful pump for this"

Review Comments: If you try this, definitely get a powerful air pump. I used a Whisper air pump for a 10 gallon aquarium, and it couldn't even push air through the stone. I ended up just not using an air stone at all and got far better results. Maybe I more powerful pump would work, but considering I can't even blow any air through the stone myself, it would have to be REALLY powerful.
